Tips
- If you can't find the objects you imported, you might have to go looking for it or change your model. Positions in Blender are also positions in Panda3D, so something at (10, 10, 10) in Blender also shows up at (10, 10, 10) in Panda3D if you export it that way.
- Be careful with models downloaded online
- Some things like textures and animations are can sometimes not export from Blender to Panda - a lot of those are easier to do just in Panda.
- The Panda3D tutorials/sample projects are really useful. It's nice to start off with one of those as a base, and you can look at their code.
- Heavily utilize online sources.
- Panda3D projects can vary wildly from person to person, so make sure to use what works for you.
- Your project grade will be heavily biased toward the complexity of your code. Make sure to include some interesting code in your project - we won't reward many points for 1000 lines of if statements, even if it's in Panda3D. Panda3D is a tool - it cannot be your whole project.
- Run your project ideas by a TA first :)
That's it!
Good luck!
